As LeBron James turns 40 on December 30, let's take a look at his NBA records as the oldest player in the league.

LeBron James is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in basketball history. The Lakers guard is playing his 22nd season and set milestones in his career.

As he turns 40 today (December 30), let’s take a look at some of his NBA records as the oldest player in the league.

1. LeBron James is the oldest player in the league to score three consecutive triple-doubles at the age of 39. He broke his own record which was set at the age of 34. He achieved this feat in a win over the Grizzlies, scoring 35 points.

2. King James set a new record in 2019 for scoring most points, assists, and rebounds by any player in their last 10 games from age 35 or older.

3. LeBron James is the oldest player in NBA history to record four consecutive triple-doubles.

4. After featuring in the 2023–24 season, LeBron James was the oldest player in the league, following the retirements of Udonis Haslem and Andre Iguodala.

5. LeBron James scored 35 points against Clippers in November 2023 which was his 81st 30-point game since turning 35. He surpassed Karl Malone for the most 30-point games by any player since turning 35 in NBA history.

6. LeBron James is the oldest player (39 years, 307 days) in NBA history to record 25 points, 10 assists, and 0 turnovers in a game. He broke the record of Steve Nash (38 years, 34 days) against Raptors in November 2024.

7. LeBron James is the oldest player with at least 15 points, 15 assists and 5 steals. He surpassed John Stockton who achieved this at the age of 35.

8. LeBron James is the oldest NBA player to represent his country at the Olympics. He played for the USA men’s basketball team in the Paris Olympics at the age of 39.

9. LeBron James is the oldest player to win the NBA Cup and NBA Cup MVP. He achieved this feat after winning the inaugural edition of NBA Cup when Lakers beat Indiana Pacers in the final.

10 . In January 2023, LeBron James became the oldest player to scored at least 40 points in a game against all NBA franchises. He is also the first player to reach this milestone.

11. James finished the regular season 2022-23 with averages of 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game to become the oldest player in NBA history to average at least 25 points, five rebounds, and five assists in a season.

12. LeBron James scored 22 points and 20 rebounds against the Memphis Grizzlies in the first-round of the NBA postseason 2022-23. Lakers star became the oldest player in NBA history with at least 20 points and 20 rebounds in a playoff game.

13. In December 2021, James became the oldest player in the league history to record at least 25 points in ten straight games. He was 37 years old to achieve this milestone.

14. In March 2022, James scored 50 points in consecutive games and became the oldest player to have multiple 50-point games in a season.

15. LeBron James is the oldest player in NBA history with 40 points on 100% 3P in a game.

16. LeBron James (37 years, 346 days old) is the oldest player in Lakers franchise history to record 35 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in a game, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (37 years, 267 days old).

17. LeBron James is the oldest player to make an NBA All-Team at the age of 39. He achieved this feat during the season 2023-24.

18. LeBron James (35 years) is the oldest player to record 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a playoff game. He achieved this feat in 2020 when he sent Lakers to NBA Finals.

19. At the age of 33, LeBron became the oldest player to ever lead the NBA in total minutes (3,025).

20. Before 2024 Christmas Day game, LeBron James became the oldest player in NBA history with a 20-point triple-double.
