The Los Angeles Lakers recalled rookie Bronny James from G League’s South Bay Lakers to the team after the game against the Hornets on Monday, Jan. 27. The team will be up against the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday, and before the game the management decided to make a roster change.

The youngster was a part of the LA Lakers in their 117-96 win over the Boston Celtics, where he played for four minutes but couldn’t score anything.

Bronny has begun to make his mark in the G League, as he recently scored his career-high 31 points on Friday against the Rip City Remix. He ended the game with two rebounds, three assists and two steals to help the side record a big 122-110 win. With his performance, he raised his G League average to 16.3 points in 10 matches for the South Bay Lakers.

Bronny James to join LA Lakers in Philadelphia

After the LA Lakers recorded a win over Golden State on Saturday, they announced that James will remain with South Bay for one more game.

However, before the Hornets game the LA Lakers decided to recall the 20-year-old rookie from the G League, and according to latest reports, he will join the team in Philadelphia.

The former USC guard has played 12 games at the NBA level and recorded four points, two rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in 29 minutes.

Bronny, who is the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft has made only one of his 11 NBA field goal attempts and missed all four of his three-point shots. On the other hand, over his two appearances with the G League side, he has amassed 54 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and two steals across 66 minutes.
