Shubham Singh

The WNBA is home to some of the craftiest players in the world. These athletes are attuned to the fundamentals of the game after a rigorous four-year college program and elite WNBA coaching.

The WNBA All-Star Skills Challenge is a guard galore because of the intense dribbling requirements. You can watch some of the fanciest crossovers, passes, shooters, and finishers here. On that note, here is a look at the odds and predictions for an exciting 2025 WNBA All-Star Skills Challenge.

When and Where to Watch the 2025 WNBA All-Star Skills Challenge

Venue: Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Indianapolis

Date & Time: July 18, 8 PM ET

Broadcast: Sling TV and ESPN

2025 WNBA All-Star Skills Challenge Odds

Allisha Gray

The Atlanta Dream guard Allisha Gray will be defending her throne during the All-Star Skills competition. During the 2024 All-Star Weekend, she became the first W athlete to win both Skills Challenge and Three-Point Challenge.

The Dream guard finished the first round with the quickest time of 31.2 seconds. Then she sealed the tricky obstacle course with a 32.1-second masterpiece in the second round.

Gray is one of the most versatile shot-creators in the league, so her success is no surprise. She has the dribbling, athletic, passing, and shooting chops to nail the competition again.

Skylar Diggins

Surprisingly, the Seattle Storm guard Skylar Diggins will make her debut in the competition. The 11-year WNBA veteran is undoubtedly one of the best dribblers in the league. She is #5 in assists this season with 5.8 APG. Her ability to perform high-quality crossovers and her hangtime around the rim make her a terrific candidate to win the competition here.

She oozes with speed, athleticism, and innate basketball senses. The guard can also nail pull-ups on a string, making her the second favorite to ace this one, per BetMGM.

Natasha Cloud

NY Liberty guard Natasha Cloud is also making her debut in the Skills Challenge. Cloud has long been one of the best passers in the league. She is averaging 6 APG this season (3rd). Apart from that, she is a decent three-point shooter and a strong finisher.

However, there is no doubt that she isn’t the favorite. But a highly competitive individual like her can pose a significant threat indeed.

Courtney Williams

Minnesota Lynx All-Star guard Courtney Williams is a genius all-around hooper. The Lynx guard is one of the best mid-range shooters and passers in the league. Her passing ability rivals the best of the best (third with 6 APG).

The guard has one of the quickest first steps and can cover the end-to-end at a fast pace. Thus, she is surely a big challenger and it won’t be surprising if she ends up as a winner. BetMGM places her as the fourth favorite, though.

Erica Wheeler

Storm guard Erica Wheeler joins teammate Skylar Diggins in the competition. She would be itching to go here as she missed the 2024 competition due to technical flight glitches. At any rate, Wheeler is another veteran known for her craftiness.

She is having tremendous success from long range this year and is known for her incredible passes. Wheeler is agile, quick, and has a ton of experience. Seriously, this All-Star Skills field is too close to call!

2025 WNBA All-Star Skills Challenge Prediction

This is a tricky one for sure. Gray enters as the favorite after winning the previous year. However, Diggis, Williams, Wheeler, and Cloud are all tough competitors. I don’t see Gray repeating this time around.

In fact, Diggins is the favorite for me, considering the pep in her step and intensity(but you can say that about the rest of them, too). Anyway, I’d pick Diggins here based on my gut.

2025 WNBA All-Star Skills Challenge Winner Prediction: Skylar Diggins for +325 at BetMGM

2025 WNBA All-Star Skills Challenge Structure

The Skills Challenge pushes a hooper to the limit. It has an obstacle course that requires high-quality dribbling skills, including crossover maneuvers to navigate. Apart from that, it tests the passing abilities.

A player has to make bounce passes and chest passes through a narrow hole with precision. You need to make a three-pointer, layup, and elbow jumper to advance as well. The first round is an individual course.

The final round is an exciting one as the two players compete side by side, often leading to the most thrilling moments.
