Every season, it feels like this could finally be the year for the Oilers. They came painfully close last season, losing in the Finals to the Florida Panthers. With Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl still in their prime, they have arguably the best offensive duo in the league. If their defense and goaltending can hold up, this might be their best shot at ending Canada’s Stanley Cup drought.
Carolina Hurricanes (+800) – The Most Balanced Team?
The Canes don’t always get the attention that teams like the Oilers or Maple Leafs do, but they are built for playoff hockey. They’ve got depth at every position, elite defense, and one of the best two-way teams in the league. If you’re looking for a team that can grind its way to a championship, Carolina is a strong bet.
Florida Panthers (+800) – Ready to Repeat?
The defending champs are right back in the mix. Winning back-to-back Cups is never easy, but Florida still has the experience, skill, and toughness that carried them to a NHL championship last year. If they hit their stride at the right time, they could go on another deep run.
Dallas Stars (+850) – A Sleeper Pick?
Dallas has been quietly building a serious contender. Their mix of veteran leadership, solid goaltending, and young stars makes them a team that could surprise a lot of people. If they get hot in the playoffs, don’t be shocked if they make a deep push.
Washington Capitals (+1000) – Winning it all for Ovechkin
The Washington Capitals have a real shot at the Stanley Cup this year, thanks to a mix of experience and physical play that thrives in the postseason. With Alex Ovechkin still leading the charge, they have the leadership needed for a deep run.
