Damian Lillard etched his name into NBA history!

In a thrilling display of shooting prowess, Portland Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard etched his name into NBA history by winning the 2026 State Farm 3-Point Contest on Saturday, February 14. The contest was held at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, as a part of the 2026 NBA All-Star festivities. Lillard, despite not playing even a minute this season due to an Achilles injury, delivered a stunning 29-point performance to edge out Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker.

Booker scored 27 points while the Charlotte Hornets’ rookie sensation Kon Knueppel came up with 17 points. This marked the third 3-Point contest crown for Lillard, who previously took the trophy home in 2023 and 2024. With this, the 35-year-old joined Larry Bird and Craig Hodges as the only three-time winners

Damian Lillard’s Past Wins in 3-Point Contest

In his first winning edition, i.e. in 2023, Lillard came up with 26 points, while his co-finalists, Buddy Hield and Tyrese Haliburton came up with 25 and 17 points, respectively. A season later in 2024, he recorded 26 points and beat Trae Young and Karl-Anthony Towns, who finished with 24 and 22 points, respectively.

As he lifted his third title, Lillard expressed his excitement and said, “I came out here excited to do it.” “I can’t say I knew I’d win but I came in confident. This is my sixth time doing it … this felt like a game to me.”

“At the end I was at his mercy but it worked out,” he added. “I was once a fan too — as a kid I went to the All-Star Game in Oakland— and fans want to see their guys. That’s what made me want to be a part of it.”

It goes without saying that the victory cements Lillard’s legacy, joining an exclusive club and proving his mettle despite not playing in the entire season.
