“We’ve Been Here Before” – Cleveland Cavaliers Governor Believes Team Can Pull Off Legendary Comeback, Channels 2017 Heroics

The Cleveland Cavaliers’ shocking performance on Sunday has further brought down their chances of making it to the Eastern Conference Finals. The Cavs are down 3-1 after the game 4 and Pacers are now deemed as favorites to win the series. However, Cleveland Cavaliers governor Dan Gilbert believes the semi-finals are far from over and his side will make a comeback.

After the conclusion of game 4, Dan Gilbert quickly made a tweet on the platform X suggesting his side has had experience of comebacks. He tweeted, “Hey @cavs fans… yes it was an ugly one, but we’ve been here before. Time to get 3 in a row, 2 of them coming at home. Let’s start with Game 5 on Tuesday. #Believeland.”

Dan Gilbert remains optimistic of his side’s chances, and Cavaliers have previously also made huge comebacks. But the way the side has performed on Sunday night, it will be a hard road down there. Various records were broken after the first half domination of the Indiana Pacers.

The Pacers at one point had a gargantuan 40+ lead, and the Cavaliers couldn’t match the intensity of the side. Donovan Mitchell who remains their focal shooter managed to hit only 12 points with an accuracy of 3-11 from the field. Mitchell’s injury and shooting slump added salt to the Cavaliers’ wounds, who are dreaming of a comeback akin to their past.

2017 Echo Fuels Believeland’s Faith

The Cleveland Cavaliers are still being fancied by some to turn things around against the Indiana Pacers, despite having a 3-1 deficit. Cavs governor Dan Gilbert made a similar admission, suggesting that the team is far from done.

A certain level of confidence remains among the fan base, as Cleveland Cavaliers have made a similar comeback in the past. During, the 2017 NBA Finals, Cavs were trailing 3-1 against Steph Curry’s Golden State Warriors. Despite being down and out, the side didn’t give up.

They scripted a massive comeback, winning the next four games and grabbing the NBA Championship. Though, the series had close games and even the game 7 had a scoreline of 93-89 in favor of the Cavs. However, such a comeback is a rare occurrence, and it remains to be seen if the current roster has that grit in them to do the unthinkable.
