“We’re Pretty Cool… Might Stay in My Crib” – Michael Porter Jr. Opens Up About Cam Johnson and Life After Trade

Michael Porter Jr. and Cam Johnson were involved in one of the first swap moves this offseason. The Brooklyn Nets and the Denver Nuggets made a direct swap, with the duo moving the opposite directions.

Porter opened up about the offseason trade, adding that he’s developed a strong friendship with Cam Johnson over the years. Both players have openly discussed the trade and appear to be supporting one another as they settle into their new environments.

Speaking on the Curious Mike channel, Porter Jr. said, “It’s crazy cause Cam and I are actually boys. We’re pretty cool. We’re even having talks of swapping homes. He might stay in my crib in Denver. I might stay where he lived in Brooklyn.”

Both the players are moving after spending 6 years at their respective former teams. Cam Johnson averaged 12.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists for the Nets. While, Michael Porter Jr. averaged 16.2 points, and 6.4 rebounds in his overall time in Denver.

Cam Johnson Sets Tone at Nuggets Presser

Cam Johnson has shared how excited he is to be at the Denver Nuggets. He spoke briefly on what he would bring to the table and how he’s managing his overall move to a newer environment. Johnson was officially introduced by the Nuggets in a Friday press conference held at Ball Arena.

Cam Johnson said, “So, one thing that I’ve always worked on in my career, to take next steps, to be able to be on the court, to be able to get playing time, is finding windows offensively. In playing with a player like Jok, if I find a spot, there’s a high chance that he’s going to put the pass on time, on target.”

The Denver Nuggets’ offense that relied heavily on Jokic is set to evolve with Cam Johnson’s introduction. Johnson is an elite passer and is on-point when it comes to hitting from the deep. These strengths could significantly lighten Jokic’s offensive workload heading into next season.
