Warriors vs. Rockets Game 4 Preview- Dubs Eye Pushing Rockets to Edge of Elimination With Commanding Win in Pivotal Matchup

After securing a significant win in Game 3, the Golden State Warriors will host the Houston Rockets in Game 4 of the first-round NBA Playoffs 2025 series. Both sides will be up against each other on Monday, April 28 at Chase Center, where the Dubs will aim to continue their winning streak to secure a 3-1 command. On the other hand, the Rockets would want to repeat their Game 2 heroics to even the series 2-2.

Golden State Warriors Preview

The Golden State Warriors, after securing the seventh seed in the Western Conference, took down the Houston Rockets 95-85 in the first-round series opener. Game 1 saw Stephen Curry leading the side with 31 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Jimmy Butler had a memorable playoffs debut with the Dubs as he came up with 25 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

In Game 2, the Warriors not only lost star forward Jimmy Butler with an injury, but also ended up on the losing side of the victory line. Curry led the side with 20 points, five rebounds, and nine assists. Butler was out of Game 3 with a pelvic contusion but the Warriors didn’t let the Rockets capitalize on his absence. They recorded a 104-93 win and secured a 2-1 lead in the series.

The former Miami Heat star would be expected to make a comeback and continue his prolific form to push the Rockets to the brink of elimination.

Houston Rockets Preview

The Rockets, otherwise seeded on a higher spot than the Warriors, have a poor playoffs history against the Warriors. In the previous six playoff appearances, they were eliminated by the Dubs four times. Even in the ongoing series, they were handed a first-game defeat by the seven-time champions.

However, the Rockets, fueled by Jalen Green’s 38 points, four rebounds, and six assists, secured a 109-94 win, leveling the series 1-1. They were aiming to continue their winning run, but Curry’s all-round performance of 36 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists crushed their hopes and they are hanging at 2-1 in the series.

Though they are trailing the series with slim margin, the Rockets wouldn’t want to expand the gap and aim for a comeback in the series.

The Warriors have listed Jimmy Butler as questionable for the crucial match up. Butler missed the previous game with a pelvic contusion, but per reports, he is expected to play in the upcoming game.

The second-seeded Rockets have promoted Jock Landale from out to probable in the forthcoming game. Apart from him, Jae’Sean Tate continues to remain out of action with right ankle impingement.

The Warriors and Rockets have clashed against each other five times this season. Out of those games, the Dubs emerged victorious in three games, whereas the Rockets clinched victory in two games.
