Warriors in Trouble? Steph Curry’s Latest Injury Update Changes Everything in the NBA Playoffs 2025 Series

Akash Vaishnav

Things are not going well for the Golden State Warriors and the hope for an improvement is fading away. Steph Curry’s hamstring injury has come as a major blow for the side who was flying past the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first game. Despite Curry’s imminent exit in the second quarter, the Warriors maintained the lead and eventually won the game.

However, during the second game, Curry’s absence became more glaringly visible. Lack of offense and no rhythm among the attackers gave away the game to the Timberwolves. Warriors have had tough luck in the NBA 2025 Playoffs so far. Jimmy Butler’s injury extended the Houston Rockets’ series to 7 games.

And now, the Minnesota Timberwolves’ series is under jeopardy without Steph Curry. Even Jimmy Butler can only do so much himself. Steph Curry, who has suffered a grade 1 hamstring injury is likely out for a longer time than estimated before. The Timberwolves have already started taking advantage of it by doubling on Butler, who remains the lone consistent scorer in the side.

Steph’s Absence Leaves a Gaping Offensive Hole

According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Steph Curry is set to miss at least three more games. He is likely to be reevaluated for the game 6 which will be played next week. This comes as a huge blow for the Warriors and Curry and gives a major advantage to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Warriors without Curry haven’t looked comfortable, not in the playoffs and not in the regular season. They have had stretches of loss due to the absence of the herd leader. The Baby faced assassin picked up form at the right time, coming alive in the all important game 7 against Houston Rockets.

He was hot early in the first game against the Minnesota Timberwolves as well. Steph Curry scored 13 points in 13 minutes and was on course to make it big until the injury struck. Steve Kerr made some changes and Warriors’ role players led the game to a 99-88 win. Gary Payton II is being looked at to step up in Steph Curry’s absence.

However, his performance of zero points in the second game gave another shocking blow to the Warriors. GSW have largely been an inconsistent offensive team, and taking away the team’s biggest attacker further nullifies the four time NBA champions. Without Steph Curry, the road looks tough for the Golden State.
