VIDEO: Warriors’ Draymond Green shuts down veteran NBA reporter over concerns about his mental well-being

Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green is known for his fierce attitude and hot temper. Whether taunting an opponent player or punching his teammate, the star forward has never shied away from confrontation. A similar attitude was visible on Wednesday when a veteran NBA reporter irked the 34-year-old with his question.

The Warriors held their media day on Wednesday ahead of the new season. During the event, veteran reporter Scott Ostler said that the fans and Green’s teammates worried about him.

“You know people worry about you — your fans and your teammates.” But before Ostler could finish his question, Green interrupted him.

“Why are they worried about me?” Green bluntly said. “I am a successful Black man in America doing incredibly well. What’s the worry about?”

“There are way more people in this world to worry about than me”, he further remarked.

The veteran reporter tried to clarify what he meant and explained that fans are worried about his focus and availability for games due to his previous on-court behavior last season.

However, Green dismissed any concerns saying, “I’m here. I’ve been here for 13 years now. We all miss games.”

Draymond Green defends Warriors’ slow-paced offseason trade

After a lackluster last season, the Warriors parted ways with their veteran guard, Klay Thompson. While there were reports of the Warriors bringing Paul George, the 6-time NBA champions lost the race to Philadephia 76ers.

Despite the heavy criticism from fans and pundits on the Warriors’ slow-paced offseason trade, the former Defensive Player of the Year defended the team’s front office, saying their patient work was excellent.

“I think the organization did an incredible job not panicking. At the moment where you miss out on a guy or two, most people then go make a bad deal”, Draymond added.

With Thompson’s departure, Green’s availability is crucial, and fans are hopeful that he can steer clear of off-court troubles in the upcoming season.
