VIDEO: LeBron James and Bronny James make history as father-son duo shares the court in preseason game

LeBron James and Bronny James played together during Lakers' loss to Phoenix Suns in the preseason game on Sunday.

Los Angeles Lakers’ second preseason game against the Phoenix Suns turned historical on Sunday night as they witnessed LeBron James and Bronny James sharing the court together. The father-son duo became the first to play together in the NBA.

Bronny, who celebrated his 20th birthday on Sunday, came into the game in the second quarter to join his father, LeBron, on the court.

While LeBron James is entering his 22nd NBA season, Bronny was a 2024 second-round draft pick and is entering as a rookie for the Lakers.

LeBron finished with a game-high 19 points, while Bronny failed to get on the scoresheet as the Lakers suffered their second preseason loss on the trot.

‘WOW THAT WAS SURREAL!!’ James posted on X after the game with teary-eyed and raising hands emojis.

LeBron topped, Bronny flopped in Lakers’ loss

While fans were thrilled to see LeBron and Bronny sharing the court together, they were left unimpressed once again with the rookie’s performance. The father-son duo delivered contrasting performances. While LeBron finished with 19 points in 16 minutes, Bronny struggled to find the basket in the 13 minutes he played, ending with one shot, 2 rebounds and 4 turnovers.

The underwhelming performance from James Jr. led to criticism from veteran sports columnist Skip Bayless, who raised doubt over Bronny’s impact playing alongside his father on the Lakers.

“LeBron and Bronny made history sharing the court in tonight’s preseason game. LeBron was great, scoring 19 in 16 minutes. Bronny took one shot in 13 minutes, missed it, and had 4 turnovers. I just don’t know,” Skip wrote on X.

The Lakers will next face the Milwaukee Bucks in their third preseason game on October 10.
