Tyrese Maxey recorded his career-high 54-point performance against the Milwaukee Bucks.
On Thursday, November 20, Tyrese Maxey came up with a stunning 54-point performance to lead the Philadelphia Sixers to a significant 123-114 overtime win over the Milwaukee Bucks. Maxey grabbed five rebounds and nine assists to record his NBA career-high performance. He was shooting 18-of-30 from the field and 6-of-15 from the three-point range in 47 minutes of action. This was his fourth 50-point game in the last three seasons, and he is only behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the tally.

Not only this, but he has also become the fastest point guard in the history of the league to reach 500+ points and 100+ assists in a season. He has emerged as a hero for the Sixers in the ongoing season. With notable absentees such as Joel Embiid and Paul George, Maxey has shouldered scoring responsibility for his team and guided the team to multiple teams. The 2024 All-Star has scored at least 30 points in nine of the first 15 games of the season. He is currently averaging 33.4 points per game, and is second behind Luka Doncic in scoring ladder.
During the post-game interview, Tyrese Maxey credited his teammate Paul George for ‘setting the tone right’ from the beginning. George, who returned to action after missing the Toronto Raptors’ clash, dropped 21 points, with five rebounds, and three assists. He was shooting 7-of-12 from the field and 4-of-7 from three.

“Paul George really hit the ground running,” Maxey said in the post-game interview. “He came out, and set the tone. We needed that off back-to-back, and I had to match his energy.” “He looks great, man. He looks great, we need that. We are blessed to have Paul George on our team. What he brings on the offensive end, we saw that, and then what he brings on the defensive end as well. He can guard like at least four positions” Maxey added.
Notably, George dropped the first 11 points of the game, and at a point the score was 11-4 against the Bucks. With this, the Sixers improved their tally to 9-6, while the Bucks, who missed their superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, dropped to 8-8.
