Top Free Agents 2025-26 NBA Season – Russell Westbrook, Ben Simmons, DeAndre Jordan and Other Key Players Still Unsigned

Eric Divakaran

The NBA 2025-26 season is right around the corner and we are already in the pre-season, where we have seen teams like the Pelicans with a healthy Zion Williamson compete, along with the L.A. Lakers, Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, and many more.

There are many teams in the NBA that have made significant offseason moves to bolster their roster like the Denver Nuggets who’ve added Cam Johnson, a great backup center in Jonas Valanciunas, Tim Hardaway Jr. And there are also teams that are still looking for answers, keeping a look at all the free agents going into the 2025-26 season.

So today we’ll take a look at some of the best free agents that are still not signed for the upcoming season. Let’s dive in.

Top Free Agents Available 2025-26 NBA Season

Here is a look at all the top free agents available;

  • Russell Westbrook: 2017’s Most Valuable Player, Russell Westbrook, has been on the downside of his NBA career and is still looking for a team to sign with heading into the 2025-26 season. Brodie averaged 13.3 points for the Nuggets last season, and was a key player in their rotation. Teams like the Houston Rockets, whose starting PG Fred Vanvleet is out for the season with a torn ACL, could sign Westbrook and reunite him with Kevin Durant (back from their OKC days).
  • Ben Simmons: Simmons is currently unsigned after his Clippers campaign last season. His health has been a major issue so far into his NBA career, and he averaged just 2.9 points on 43.4 percent shooting from the field. However, Simmons is still a great perimeter defender and can distribute the rock if there’s great spacing in a team.
  • Malik Beasley: Beasley is a surprising addition to this list as he averaged 16.3 points playing for the Pistons and shot 41.6% from deep last season. He is a great spacer and thrives on catch-and-shoot situations. Many teams in the NBA require a shooter like him, and Beasley is definitely some of the best available players in the market.
  • P.J. Tucker: Tucker is still unsigned this season after a 3.0 ppg average last season on just three games played for the Knicks. Tucker has never been a scorer but is a reliable contributor on the defensive end. He can definitely guard tough matches and is a great spot up 3-point shooter from the corner.
  • Jae Crowder: Crowder signed with the Sacramento Kings in 2024-25 season and played in just 9 games, a career low. He had a horrible shooting percentage last season, and played only 11.4 minutes a game, lowest since his rookie season.
  • Bol Bol: Bol played for the Phoenix Suns for the last two seasons and once a great prospect, Bol has not shown improvements in NBA career so far, leading to him still being unsigned. However, he can still protect the rim with his length, and can space the floor. If any team needs size along with spacing, Bol is the perfect fit.

  • Cody Martin: After spending six seasons with the Charlotte Hornets, Martin moved to the Suns last season and played in only 14 games. He averaged 3.7 points on 11.1 percent 3-point shooting, and just 35.1 percent from the field.
  • Markelle Fultz: The former No.1 overall pick is now unsigned and we seriously wonder how we got here. It started with his unusual shooting form, his free throw form, and frequent injuries, and now he’s still unsigned. Averaging just 2.9 point per game with the Kings in 21 games, Fultz is yet to be signed, after playing great for the Orlando Magic just two seasons ago.
  • Reggie Jackson: Jackson is on the latter stages of his career after spending time with 76ers in 2024-25 season and the Nuggets in the 2023-24 season. While he is still unsigned, Jackson can be a dependable backup option for any team, given his experience in the NBA.
  • DeAndre Jordan: Jordan who was once some of the most explosive centers in the NBA with the Lob City Clippers, is still unsigned. Jordan served as a backup for Nikola Jokic last season with the Nuggets, and can still help a team grab rebounds.
  • Cameron Payne: The New York Knicks decided not to re-sign Cam Payne and it was a little disappointing to see. Payne, while averaging 6.9 points with the Knicks in 2024-25, still contributed significantly last season, and was a huge part in the Knicks’ run to the ECF. Teams can definitely sign him and make him serve as the backup.
  • Patty Mills: Once a great three point shooter, Patty Mills has not been signed yet and is coming off 29.8 percent from the 3-point line, the worst in his career. Mills can also be a liability on the defensive end, which may have contributed to his downfall.
  • Taj Gibson: Taj Gibson is a 40-year-old power forward but still played in 37 games last season for the Hornets. His age may be the biggest contributor in his unsigned status, but can still provide leadership and be a great locker room presence, given his veteran status.

I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
