Chicago Bulls to honor Derrick Rose against New York Knicks in January

Former MVP Derrick Rose will have his final moment in front of Chicago Bulls fans during the 2024-25 season after announcing his retirement from basketball and the NBA.

While there hasn’t been any official announcement about retiring his jersey, the Bulls and the city of Chicago will pay tribute to Rose on January 4, when the New York Knicks visit the United Center, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Charania shared on the Pat McAfee Show that the Bulls will honor Derrick Rose on this date, dedicating the weekend to the 15-year NBA veteran, who played for both the Bulls and Knicks during his career.

On September 26, Rose, who turns 36 on October 4, announced his retirement from basketball. The top pick of the 2008 NBA Draft spent 15 seasons with six different teams: the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons, and Memphis Grizzlies. The Bulls, where he experienced the most success, will have a special day for him this upcoming season.
