Key Golden State Warriors players are questionable for their next game
The Golden State Warriors secured a blowout victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night at the Moda Center. Following the victory in their season opener, it looks like the team will be without their key players.
After securing a dominant show against the Blazers, the Warriors will now face the Utah Jazz. The game will take place at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Ahead of the game, it looks like the Warriors might be on the road without their most crucial players. As reported by Anthony Slater, Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and De’Anthony Melton have been listed as questionable for the Warriors’ upcoming game against the Utah Jazz. In a post on X, Anthony Slater said:
“Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and De’Anthony Melton all listed as questionable at Jazz tomorrow. Right hip contusion for Curry, chest contusion for Melton, right knee contusion for Green. Draymond limped out of locker room last night with compression sleeve after hit to knee.”
Take a look at the post below:
In their season opener, Curry played just 25 minutes and scored 17 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds. Meanwhile, Green played 20 minutes and scored eight points along with six rebounds. Melton also had a decent outing as he recorded 10 points and four assists in 19 minutes of playing time.
It’s safe to say that the Warriors cruised through their first game of the season. However, they picked up a few bumps and bruises along the way. It remains to be seen if Curry, Green, and Melton are available for their second game of the season or not against the Jazz.
While the Golden State Warriors are a great team and look strong at the start of the 2024-25 season, they are not the favorites to win the NBA championship this season. However, on his day, Curry is capable of taking down any team in the league on his own.
That said, Curry has played a crucial role in the championships won by the Warriors during his time but one player does not make the team. With Klay Thompson also leaving the team and joining the Dallas Mavericks this season, and Buddy Hield coming in his place, it will be interesting to see how the season plays out and if Curry can add one more title to his collection.
