SGA enters his name into yet another NBA record book!
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander once again led the Oklahoma City Thunder to another remarkable win. The NBA MVP 2025 scored 34 points, five rebounds and eight assists to help the Thunder register a 123-107 victory over the Indiana Pacers in Game 2 of the NBA Finals 2025. This is not it, with his gameplay on Sunday-night, SGA scripted NBA history and joined an exclusive club.
The 26-year-old crossed the 3,000 combined points mark between the regular season and postseason. He now has a total of 3,032 points combined in the 2025 season (regular season-2484 and postseason-584). Gilgeous-Alexander is now the 12th player in the history of the league to achieve the feat. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander broke another record with his scoring prowess on Sunday night. SGA, who finished Game 1 of the NBA Finals 2025 series with 38 points, five rebounds, and three assists, has now a total of 72 points combined in the first two games of the NBA Finals. With this, he created the record of the most points ever by a player in his first two career NBA Finals games.

It was previously held by Allen Iverson, who broke the record in 2001. Before Iverson, Michael Jordan created the record in 1991 at 69 points. This is not it, the Canadian is the only point guard alongside Luka Doncic to have back-to-back 30-point games in the beginning of their NBA Finals career. Moreover, he now has nine straight home games with over 30 points this postseason, which is the longest streak in a single playoff edition in the league.
