San Antonio Spurs Reportedly Plan to Sign Kevin Durant to Complement Victor Wembanyama Next Season

After a lackluster season, San Antonio is aiming for a surge in strength next season. The Texan organization has reportedly targeted Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo as potential major signings to complement Victor Wembanyama.

With a record of 34 wins and 48 losses, the Spurs finished 13th in the Western Conference. Still in the play-in race after the arrival of De’Aaron Fox at the trade deadline, the franchise saw its hopes dashed after the NBA All-Star Game , when Victor Wembanyama was forced to end his season due to a blood clot in his shoulder.

According to Jake Fischer , a well-informed NBA insider, the Spurs are actively preparing for the offseason and are seen as credible contenders to land Kevin Durant or Giannis Antetokounmpo . The roster already has a promising core, consisting of Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell, Jeremy Sochan , as well as two stars: Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox.

This strategy reflects a clear ambition: to build a squad capable of playing for the title around Wembanyama . A reinforcement such as Durant or Antetokounmpo would immediately redefine the contours of the Texan project.
