The New York Knicks made a comeback after their disappointing second game loss. The Knicks answered the home court loss in the best way possible, by winning the away game against the Detroit Pistons. Flares also went a notch above with players clashing consistently, giving the good old NBA Playoffs vibe. Every ball, every play and every word matters in this stage of the season.
The visitors looked comfortable throughout the Pistons vs. Knicks game 3. The Detroit Pistons rather looked hungover from their previous victory at Madison Square Garden. The New York Knicks made some good plays in the first quarter that led them to a 33-27 lead. Karl-Anthony Towns was the anchor for his side.

Karl Anthony Towns, Paul Reed and Mitchell Robinson all got into a brawl just before the end of the first quarter. The players showed on the court how much the game meant to them. The Knicks continued their momentum by sliding to another lead of 33-26 in the second quarter. OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges and Jalen Brunson were complimenting each other well.
While the Pistons were lagging in the offensive output. Despite shortcomings, in the earlier quarters, the hosts took the Pistons vs. Knicks game closer with an improved performance in the third and fourth quarters. The third match went till the dying seconds, with the New York Knicks emerging as victorious through a 118-116 score.
Karl-Anthony Towns ended the game with 31 points, shooting 4-8 from deep, and Jalen Brunson with 30 points for the Knicks. While Detroit Pistons stars Cade Cunningham and Tim Hardaway Jr. both hit 24 points each.
The last part of the Pistons vs. Knicks game was poorly officiated, according to fans and analysts. With just five seconds left on the clock, and the scoreline at 116-113 in favor of the Knicks, the home team was ready to foul Jalen Brunson. The Knicks guard who had possession may have caused a backcourt violation that went unnoticed to the officials.
Brunson caught an inbound pass from teammate Mikal Bridges. But his body appeared to be in the front court first before his momentum pulled him into the backcourt. Players shouted for a foul from the sidelines, but officials didn’t react to it. Seconds later, Jalen Brunson was fouled by the Pistons. The referees were booed from the arena as the home fans believed that their team was robbed off a possible victory.
