LeBron James is the first player to reach 50,000 career points (regular season + playoffs).

LeBron James once again proved why he is called the KING. The Los Angeles Lakers icon created NBA history by becoming the first ever player to cross the 50,000 career point mark. He now has 50,002 points.

As James took the court during the clash against the New Orleans Pelicans, he required only one point to achieve the historical feat. James could have created the record in the previous win against the LA Clippers, he was short of 18 points to create the historical record.

However, a struggling James finished the night with 17 points and fell short of just one point, which he seamlessly achieved during first few minutes into the Pelicans’ game.

As the 40-year-old created history on Tuesday night, LeBron now has 41839 regular season points and 8162 points in the playoffs. Fans hailed the 21-time NBA All-Star for his another milestone. Here’s how they reacted:

An Unstoppable LeBron James at 40

40-year-old LeBron James was earlier named as the NBA’s Western Conference Player of the Month for February. With this, he not only became the oldest player in the history to win the Player of the Month, but now leads the charts with 41 titles.

Despite nearing the end of his career, he is averaging 29.3 points, 10.5 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game this season.

James is in his 22nd NBA season, which ties him with Vince Carter for most seasons played in the history of the league. Talking about the highest-career points standings, James is followed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with 44,149 career points on the second spot. Karl Malone is in third spot with 41,689 points.

LeBron is a synonym for greatness. Apart from being the first player to cross the 50,000 point mark, here are a few other records that James holds in the league:
Most 10+ point games with 1,824.
Most 20+ point games with 1,534.

Fifth highest 40+ point games with 108
