The Indiana Pacers will host the Oklahoma City Thunder at their homecourt for Game 3 of the NBA Finals in Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Indiana. The series is currently tied 1-1, but many believe that the Thunder have found what they were looking for in Game 2, and can win the series. However, we say, do not be quick in writing the Pacers off as we believe the Pacers still have a move or two up their sleeves as the series advances. So the question to be asked is, can the Pacers take a 2-1 lead at their homecourt tonight? Or will the Thunder spoil their home opener of the NBA finals and steal the game on the road? Let’s find out more.
The Thunder bounced back after a heartbreaking Game 1 loss against the Pacers. While Shai Gilgeous Alexander was criticized for the lack of care after losing Game 1 for saying, “it’s just another game,” he came back and dropped 34 points on 52.4 percent shooting from the field in Game 2. The Thunder also had huge contributions for Alex Caruso who dropped a 27 points, or how about Aaron Wiggins who scored 18 points to help the Thunder win the game. OKC is the far better team at least talent wise, and Game 2 was just a way for them to show off their bench and depth.

The Indiana Pacers have struggled with physicality in this series, and both their stars Pascal Siakam nor Tyrese Haliburton have scored 20 or more points in this series. The Pacers have had a hard time dealing with the Thunder’s length, and defending, with Alex Caruso pestering Siakam as much as he can. The Pacers will need a great point production from Haliburton and Siakam, and their role players also need to step up for them in order for them to win the NBA championship. While the series is far from over, the Thunder look like they have stolen the momentum from Indiana, and could be very tough to stop moving forward.
