OKC Thunder Receive NBA Championship Rings, Raise Title Banner Ahead of 2025-26 Season Opener Against Houston Rockets

The OKC Thunder received their first NBA rings since moving to Oklahoma City.

The OKC Thunder kicked off the 2025-26 season by hosting Houston Rockets at Paycom Center on Tuesday, October 21. Before the tip-off, the reigning champions, Thunder, celebrated their 2024-25 NBA title by receiving NBA rings and raising their first title banner since the organization relocated from Seattle in 2008. Notably, the Thunder, led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, defeated the Indiana Pacers in Game 7 during the 2025 NBA Finals to win their first title since moving to Oklahoma City.

During the ceremony, league commissioner Adam Silver addressed the crowd and handed rings to franchise Chairman Clay Bennett and President Sam Presti. The players then received their rings from them. Notably, the OKC Thunder ring features 14-karat white and yellow gold, with over 800 custom-cut gemstones in team colors. The rings also have each player’s number inscribed with diamonds and it opens up to reveal another ring inside it. While the price of the rings isn’t available publicly, according to TalkSport, each ring costs around $40,000.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Debuts Converse SHAI 001 Banner for Ring Ceremony

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the reigning MVP, debuted Converse SHAI 001 in ‘Banner’ colorway to celebrate the team’s ring ceremony and banner night. Notably, last season, SGA launched his first signature Canvas basketball shoe, SHAI 001 in ‘Butter’ colorway, followed by three ‘Family’ colorways. The shoe turned out to be a great success and were sold out quickly online and in stores.

However, SGA once again hit the court in a new colorway, to celebrate the OKC Thunder’s ring ceremony and banner night. The white and gold design of the shoe is a player-exclusive colorway, and has a white upper paired with a metallic gold base. It features SGA’s signature logo in gold on the white tongue. It is to be noted that the 27-year-old switched from Nike to Converse and signed a massive contract extension with them in April 2004.
