It was an exciting day in the NBA. The Cleveland Cavaliers became the first team to secure a playoff spot this season as they defeated the Miami Heat 112-107 on March 5. In another game, the Boston Celtics saw two players, Derrick White and Payton Pritchard, achieved two records.

Not only this, but as the Bucks recorded a blowout win over the Mavericks, Giannis Antetokounmpo registered himself in the 20,000 career-point club. There is a lot more that happened on Wednesday across eight games in the NBA. Let’s have a look at the top highlights across all these games.

Cavaliers 112-107 Heat

The Cleveland Cavaliers recorded their 12th straight win and clinched the Playoffs spot by taking down the Heat 112-107 in a thrilling encounter. Donovan Mitchell led the Cavaliers with 26 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Evan Mobley added 16 points while Darius Garland had 15 points, three rebounds and 10 assists to add. De’Andre Hunter also scored 16 points, five rebounds and two assists.

On the opposite side, Bam Adebayo chipped in a game-leading 34 points, 12 rebounds and five assists. Duncan Robinson had 14 points, and Haywood Highsmith chipped in 13 points.

Wizards 125-122 Jazz

The Washington Wizards took down the Utah Jazz 125-122 in another exciting game of the night. Kyshawn George scored 23 points, seven rebounds and two assists while Alex Sarr had 21 points, five rebounds and four assists. Justin Champagnie had 17 points, three rebounds and two assists. On the other hand, Johnny Juzang had 27 points, seven rebounds and two assists while Kyle Filipowski had 23 points and 13 rebounds. Isaiah Collier 19 points, six rebounds and six assists.

Celtics 128-118 Trail Blazers

The Boston Celtics had a night to remember, not only because they scored a 128-118 win over the Trail Blazers. Derrick White and Payton Pritchard created franchise history with their 40+ scores. As White recorded 41 points, and Pritchard finished with 43 points, they became the first ever Celtics duo to score 40+ points in a game. Not only this, but White recorded nine three-pointers and Pritchard had ten three-pointers. They now hold the record for pulling off the most threes in a game by a pair of teammates in the NBA.

On the other hand, Anfernee Simons had 30 points, one rebound and six assists. Shaedon Sharpe had 25 points, six rebounds and two assists for the Trail Blazers.

Timberwolves 125-110 Hornets

Jaden McDaniels and Anthony Edwards came up with 29 points apiece to help the Timberwolves 125-110 win over the Hornets. Julius Randle had 25 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists as the Timberwolves recorded their third straight win. Donte DiVincenzo had 16 points, five rebounds and one assist while Naz Reid added 13 points, ten rebounds and two assists.

LaMelo Ball topped the Hornets’ leading charts with 28 points, ten rebounds and six assists. Miles Bridges chipped in 23 points, nine rebounds and five assists. However, their effort fell short as the Hornets recorded their eighth straight loss.

Bucks 137-107 Mavericks

The Milwaukee Bucks recorded their fourth straight win as they handed over a 137-107 blowout loss to the Hornets. The game night saw the Bucks’ star Giannis Antetokounmpo recording a milestone. Giannis crossed the 20,000 career-point mark as he finished with 32 points, game-high 15 rebounds and four assists. Damian Lillard led them with 34 points, three rebounds and five assists while AJ Green finished the night with 18 points, two rebounds and two assists.

On the other hand, the struggling Mavericks saw Klay Thompson scoring 28 points, four rebounds and four assists. Naji Marshall scored 22 points with ten rebounds and two assists. This was the third straight loss for the Mavericks who are missing the services of several stars due to injury issues.

Nuggets 116-110 Kings

The Nuggets bounced back from their past defeat and handed over a 116-110 loss to the Kings. Seeded third in the West, the Nuggets had three players crossing the 20-point mark. Russell Westbrook scored 25 points, recorded five rebounds and three assists while Jamal Murray scored 24 points, four rebounds and eight assists. Nikola Jokic scored 22 points, 15 rebounds and six assists. Apart from them, Christian Braun chipped in 15 points while Michael Porter Jr. had 13 points.

DeMar DeRozan came up with a game-high performance of 35 points, six rebounds and five assists. Zach LaVine recorded 20 points, four rebounds and six assists for the Kings, whose four-game losing streak came to an end with the loss. Jonas Valanciunas followed LaVine with 19 points, 13 rebounds and six assists.

Thunder 120-103 Grizzlies

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander came up with 41 points, two rebounds and eight assists to help the Thunder get better of the Grizzlies 120-103. Jalen Williams added 20 points, five rebounds and nine assists for the winners while Aaron Wiggins added 16 points, one rebound and three assists. Jaylin Williams had 13 points and four rebounds. On the flip side, Ja Morant led the Grizzlies with 24 points, three rebounds and six assists. Desmond Bane and Scotty Pipen Jr. recorded 15 points apiece.

Clippers 123-115 Pistons

The LA Clippers snapped their three-game losing streak and took down the Pistons 123-115. James Harden stole the limelight with his stellar 50-point performance. He added four rebounds and five assists to guide the side to a remarkable win. Bogdan Bogdanovic added 23 points, three rebounds and three assists, while Ivica Zubac had 22 points, eleven rebounds and three assists.

On the other hand, Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with 37 points, seven rebounds and ten assists. Dennis Schroder added 21 points, six rebounds and seven assists while Malik Beasley added 14 points.
