The Los Angeles Lakers will host the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5 to avoid elimination in the first-round playoff series. The Wolves’ fourth-quarter surge in the previous game helped them outclass the Lakers. With a 3-1 advantage, Minnesota need just one win to qualify for the conference semifinals.

In the last three attempts, the Wolves failed twice in the opening round and have never beaten the Lakers in a playoff series. Minnesota won its home games comfortably and exposed the Lakers’ shooting struggle. Anthony Edwards finished with 43 points and outshone Luka Doncic, who has three 30-point performances in the series.

The previous game was a big failure for JJ Redick as coach, who didn’t make a single substitute in the second half, and fatigue played a big role in the fourth-quarter failure.
