NBA 2K25 Patch Notes 4.0: All the key updates you need to know

NBA 2K25 is gearing up for another exciting season, and Patch Notes 4.0 is set to drop this week. The update will first launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X & S, with a Steam release following shortly after.

Here’s a breakdown of all the major changes and improvements coming your way before the start of Season 4, which kicks off on Friday, January 10, at 8 AM PT/11 AM ET/4 PM GMT.

General Updates

Player rankings in Play Now Online will now be sorted correctly on the Friends tab.

Fixed a rare issue causing the game to hang during lineup changes in Play Now Online.

Gameplay

Shot Feedback Revamp: “Light Pressure” coverage has been separated into three bands (Weak, Moderate, Strong) for more precise feedback.
Skill Dunk Adjustments: Trailing defenders can no longer force dunkers into layups by bumping them from behind.
Real-Life Physics Enhancements: Adjusted ball and rim restitution to reduce excessively long rebounds.
Rule Update: Offensive 3-Second rule is now active in 1v1 Proving Grounds and 1v1 Ante-Up games.

City, Pro-Am, Rec, and Theater Updates

Improved performance, stability, and visuals for a better overall experience in The City.
Fixed an issue with REP multipliers not applying correctly after transitioning from MyTEAM to The City.
Pro-Am teams on the Away side now have a chance for their Alternate uniforms to be selected.
Resolved clothing-change delays before entering shootarounds in Pro-Am 5v5.

MyCAREER updates

Fixed the Maximum Overdrive badge slot unlocking issue.
Resolved dynamically scheduled quest issues that could prevent proper progression.

MyTEAM updates

Fixed a rare bug that prevented Breakout games from being counted.
Updated mini-game award icons and visuals in Breakout.
Resolved issues with Favorite Plays not saving when a new Playbook Card was selected.
Auction House menus have received various visual improvements.
Fixed a rare bug affecting progress during Welcome to MyTEAM Challenges.
