Memphis Grizzlies vs. Dallas Mavericks Injury Report April 18, 2025 – Major Updates on Anthony Davis and Ja Morant as Two Teams Play for No. 8 Seed

Gulshan Sharma

Grizzlies routed the Mavs 132-87 in the regular season finale last week.

The Memphis Grizzlies will host the Dallas Mavericks in the final round of the Play-In Tournament on Friday night. The winner of this game will clinch the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference and take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the playoff series. The Grizzlies had a 3-1 advantage over the Mavs in the 2024-25 regular-season series.

Memphis got an opportunity to take the No. 7 seed, but the Curry-Butler duo spoiled their party. The midseason firing of their head coach and a poor run of form in the final phase of the season made an impact on their seeding. The Grizzlies hold the home-court advantage in this game, and with a 26-15 record at FedEx Forum this season, they are a slightly better side.

On the flip side, the Mavericks outclassed the Kings in their Play-In opener 120-106, courtesy of a second-quarter outburst. Dallas, the runner-up of last season, dropped its best performance to step closer towards the playoffs. However, this matchup won’t be easy, as the Grizzlies routed the Mavs 132-87 in the regular season finale last week.
