Luka Doncic and Tyler Herro Earn Player of the Week Honors

Buffalo Sabres forward Jordan Greenway is likely to return from injury as the team faces the Detroit Red Wings in a crucial matchup.

For the 14th time in his career, Luka Doncic has been named the Western Conference Player of the Week. The Slovenian superstar returned from a wrist injury and led the Dallas Mavericks to an undefeated 3-0 record during the week of December 2-8.

Doncic showcased his all-around game, averaging 29.3 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 8.3 assists in victories over Memphis, Washington, and Toronto. He also shot an impressive 14-of-32 from beyond the arc during those games.

Other Western Conference nominees are Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, Oklahoma City Thunder teammates Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams, Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic, and Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis.

Tyler Herro Secures First NBA Player of the Week Honor in Eastern Conference

In the Eastern Conference, Tyler Herro also earned his first-ever NBA Player of the Week award. Herro guided Miami to a 3-1 record last week on an average of 25 points, six rebounds, and six assists. During the week, Herro shot 51% from the field and 44% from the 3-point range. Despite a tough loss to Boston, Herro helped lead Miami to wins against the Lakers, Suns, and Cavaliers.

Eastern Conference nominees were Giannis Antetokounmpo Milwaukee Bucks forward, Jaylen Brown, Boston Celtics wing, teammates Paul George and Tyrese Maxey Philadelphia 76ers, Brandon Miller Charlotte Hornets forward, Cleveland Cavaliers big, Evan Mobley, and Chicago Bulls center, Nikola Vucevic. No Portland Trail Blazers player has been nominated this week.
