LeBron James is reportedly unhappy in Los Angeles and could soon look for a move following the Lakers’ failure to strengthen their roster. At 40, James is eager to win another NBA title and cement his legacy before retirement.

However, his $52 million salary could be a major thorn in any move. Despite that, according to recent reports, multiple teams have contracted James’ agent for a possible trade. We look at the probable landing spots for the forward.

Cleveland Cavaliers: LeBron James reportedly prefers a return to his first NBA home. With the East being wide open, Cavaliers have still not been able to push all the way. Despite finishing at the first position in the table, the Cavs bowed out in the semi finals.

They lack a veteran leader with championship experience who can guide them through high-pressure playoff moments. LeBron James’ trade could be a win-win situation for both the parties. The Cavs would get a superstar and leader while James would get another shot at winning the NBA Title.

Star-Studded Trade Options for LeBron James

New York Knicks: The Knicks are another franchise who could absorb the star forward. But the Knicks would need to part with players like O.G. Anunoby and Mitchell Robinson to make room for the trade. James would complement the Knicks’ already stacked wing and add versatility with Karl Anthony-Towns.

Golden State Warriors: This one is a surprise entrant. But GSW is a franchise that James would like to play for as well. Warriors will have to give up Jimmy Butler and also Draymond Green for that to happen. A Steph Curry and LeBron James team would give an NBA record shattering viewership.

Dallas Mavericks: There is also a scenario where the whole Luka Doncic trade comes around full circle with LeBron joining the Mavericks. However, Dallas will have to give up Klay Thompson, Daniel Gafford, and P.J. Washington. The Mavericks may find the cost too steep, as giving up multiple core players could impact their roster balance, but the Lakers stand to gain depth and flexibility.
