LeBron posted a triple-double of 35 points, 14 assists and 12 rebounds during Laker's 128-123 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
As LeBron James continues to defy age and expectations in his 22nd NBA season, there’s growing speculation that the 2025-26 season could be his last in the league. NBA insider Shams Charania said on “First Take” that next season might mark the end of LeBron’s storied career.
LeBron, who is currently averaging 24.3 points, 9.4 assists, and 8.1 rebounds per game, has shown no signs of slowing down. Despite being 39 years old, he continues to perform at an elite level, shooting 52.4% from the field and 45.9% from beyond the arc. The 4-time MVP recently set a new record with his third consecutive triple-double performance.
“My sense is next season could potentially be his last season in the NBA. … Maybe Bryce James keeps him around an extra year or two”, Charania said on LeBron’s future.

Earlier, LeBron also made a somber statement about his retirement plans.
“I don’t know. I’m not gonna play that much longer. If it’s 1 year, 2 years, whatever the case may be. I’m not playing until the wheels fall off. I’m not gonna be the guy that’s disrespecting the game”, LeBron said after Wednesday’s 128-123 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.
