Maluach, a former Duke Blue Devils’ Center, entertained fans with his huge size and sharp skills during his freshman season. In Duke’s Sweet 16 victory over Arizona, he formed a defensive fortress alongside Cooper Flagg. His four blocks helped the team secure a 100-93 victory, and the Devils secured their berth in the Elite Eight. Maluach is a skilled player, and finished the season with a record of 8.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 5 assists per game.

Apart from playing for Duke, the 7’2” tall teenager is also a member of the South Sudan national team, which he joined at the age of 16. Not many know but it wasn’t an easy childhood for Khaman Maluach. His basketball journey began in the shadows of war, and the early years of his life were shaped by conflict. He spent his childhood as a refugee with his mother and siblings in Kawempe, Kampala in Uganda.
