Steve Kerr said Kyle Anderson will get more minutes in his absence.
Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga sprained his right ankle during the first half of his team’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Head coach Steve Kerr feels the forward will miss some time.
Kuminga had an injury in the closing minutes of the first half when he tried to block a shot. He will undergo an MRI exam.
The Warriors will play back-to-back games, and Kuminga is unlikely to play in the next game. Steve Kerr said Kyle Anderson will get more minutes in his absence. “It’s not going to be a day-to-day thing, it was a significant sprain,” Kerr said. “We’ll just have a report tomorrow.”
“It’s going to be tough. JK’s been playing the best basketball of his career these last couple weeks, so we’re going to miss him,” Kerr added. “But Kyle will fill in well.”

Golden State played without their key player, Steph Curry but they avenged the 54-point blowout loss after beating Memphis on Saturday. Before leaving court in the second quarter, Kuminga scored 13 points over 15 minutes. Andrew Wiggins scored 24 points, and Dennis Schroder added 17 to guide Warriors third win in four games.
Jonathan Kuminga faced criticism and some speculation reported that the Warriors may trade him due to his poor run. However, the 22-year-old changed his gears and averaged 26.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game while shooting 39-for 54 since Christmas. All while coming off the bench and if he misses out few more games, it will be a big blow for Warriors.
Golden State Warriors will play Sacramento Kings on Sunday and Kerr might include Steph Curry in the side. Kuminga’s injury is not serious and should make a quick recovery to return next week.
