JJ Redick Rushes Out of the Presser in Less Than 2 Minutes After the L.A. Lakers Humiliating Loss to the Hawks

Eric Divakaran

The L.A. Lakers faced the Atlanta Hawks recently, where they suffered an embarrassing loss with the final score of 102-122. The Lakers surrendered 30 points or more in three of four quarters, and lost to the Hawks who were missing four of their biggest scorers in Jalen Johnson, Trae Young, Kristaps Porzingis, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker.

While the Lakers were missing some of their key pieces of their own, including Austin Reaves and LeBron James, the Lakers just defeated a very hot team in San Antonio Spurs prior, with the same Luka Doncic led squad. The Lakers had not played since the Spurs game, coming out flat against Atlanta, while the Hawks got a very impressive win on the leg of a back-to-back.

JJ Redick Was Not Happy With the L.A. Lakers’ Performance

JJ Redick, ever since becoming the head coach for the Lakers, has kept it real since day one, when it came to sharing his thoughts about the game or his personal feelings. After the Lakers’ ugly loss to the Hawks, Redick didn’t hold back on criticizing his own team for a lackluster effort they played with.

Redick was asked about when the game got away from the Lakers and their first unit (starting five) not being in the game, Redick cut the reporter off, replying, “I realized that in the first two minutes of the game.” The reporter followed up with another question asking what he saw in those first two minutes, “Nothing,” replied Redick – and walked out. He was visibly frustrated by their poor loss and it was all-in-all disappointing to see.

The Lakers have been great to start the season, but this was an easy game for them that slipped away right from the opening quarter. 5 players scored in double-digits, but it L.A.’s defense that ultimately lost them the game. The Lakers play the Hornets next and the Thunder right after.

I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
