The Nuggets are now leading the series 2-1 over the Thunder.

Denver Nuggets’ star point guard Jamal Murray said that everyone in the team has got each other’s back. Murray’s statement came after the Nuggets pulled off a stunning 113-104 OT win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 3 of their conference semifinals series in NBA Playoffs 2025. The game saw Murray leading the hosts with 27 points, four rebounds, and eight assists in 48 minutes of action.

He played a crucial role in Friday night’s game, including posting 16 points and five assists in the second half as well as free throws to tie the game. In the overtime, he displayed brilliant defensive prowess on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and tallied four steals in the fourth quarter and overtime combined.

However, following the win, the Canadian star said that it was not only him, but it was the entire team’s effort which helped them pull off a thrilling win to establish their dominance in the series. The 28-year-old told ESPN, “It wasn’t me, it was everybody. I mean, we all got to cover each other’s backs. You know what I’m saying?”

Murray heaped praise on their counterparts and said that the Thunder tested them the entire night. He stated, “They’re a great team. They tested us all night and I just think we were able to stick with it and get the win. So, you know, tonight was just a good team win.”

Nuggets Interim Head Coach David Adelman Lauds Jamal Murray’s Defensive Prowess In Game 3

After the game, Denver Nuggets’ head coach David Adelman lauded Jamal Murray for his defensive skills that he put on display in the final quarter and overtime. He said, “Jamal Murray defensively in the fourth quarter in overtime… I thought he really sat down and guarded when it mattered.”

Further speaking about Murray, Adelman said that he is “mentally tough.” He added that the 6’4” guard is one of those players who know what they have to give and how to find a way to secure a win.

Adelman stated, “He’s another one of those cogs in that room that have been around and seen it, and they know when it’s winning time that what they’ve got to give, know what to give in their body and their mind to find a way to win it.”

In Game 3, Murray was shooting 9-of-19 from the field and 2-of-5 from the deep. He now has the most playoff points by a point guard over the last three seasons. After their thrilling win, the Nuggets are leading the series 2-1, and will host their rivals for Game 4 on Sunday, May 11.
