Indiana Pacers Uncover Unstoppable Formula in NBA Finals, Data Shows Pacers Surge Since Playoffs Isn’t Random

Pacers might have just discovered a Finals-winning secret, and the Thunder can’t seem to stop it

The Indiana Pacers are firing on offense and racking up playoff milestones along the way. With the game 3 win against the Oklahoma City Thunder, they now have a 2-1 over the NBA Finals series.

The Pacers also have extended their phenomenal offensive record with the recent win. They’ve gone 14-0 in playoff games where they hit 110+ points, a clear sign of how vital offense is to the Pacers’ identity. This also goes on to show how dependent the Indiana Pacers is on their offensive unit.

Whenever the side has scored 109 or below, they have lost all their matches and remain with a 0-5 record. Despite strength on both ends, OKC Thunder have failed to crack Indiana’s offensive game plan. It doesn’t take a genius to see how heavily Indiana leans on its frontcourt to stay afloat.

Tyrese Haliburton has been the central unit of the Pacers’ attack securing vital wins for them throughout the post season. In fact, his clutch shots are one of the reasons why the Indiana Pacers have reached the NBA Finals for the second straight time.

Thunder Need More Than Just Shai

However, it’s not all about the Indiana Pacers in the NBA Finals. OKC Thunder despite loose strings here and there are also putting up some numbers on the board. Their defensive unit has been strong. What remains an issue is the offensive as they haven’t been able to find a consistent secondary scoring option.

OKC Thunder is forcing 18.2 Turnovers per game in the the NBA Playoffs this season. This remains one of the strongest averages from the past couple of seasons. What the Western Conference Champions need to do is just push their offense little more beyond Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

That could completely change the series for Shai and the Thunder. Once the Thunder’s defensive get hold of Pacers strength (offense), they could again start dominating. However, it is easier said than done given how things are panning out for the Indiana Pacers.
