The NFL 2025 season is just a month away, and the chatter around the winners has already picked up pace. The Philadelphia Eagles lead title odds for 2025, followed closely by the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens.

One surprising omission from the top ten contenders list is the once-dominant Dallas Cowboys franchise. And in the midst, superfan Shaquille O’Neal has placed a ridiculous bet on his side. He predicted that the Cowboys are going to win the NFL title in the upcoming season.

Not only that, he suggested that the Dallas Cowboys, who visit the Lincoln Financial Field in week 1, will be able to beat the Philadelphia Eagles. Big Shaq on a podcast said, “I will wear that dress in front of my restaurant at the Paris Hotel in Vegas (if the Dallas Cowboys lose against the defending champions).”

Shaquille O’Neal has been a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, and he has been through thick and thin with his team. The five-time Super Bowl champions are in a rough patch, with their current roster offering little hope for postseason success.

Philadelphia have Dominated Recent Cowboys Matchups

The Philadelphia Eagles enter Week 1 as clear favorites, backed by strong preseason form and home advantage. The defending champions have been brilliant at home. And against the Dallas Cowboys, they have a phenomenal record.

In both the meetings between the Eagles and the Cowboys last season, the Eagles put up blowout performances. During the week 10 matchup, Philadelphia registered a 34-6 win, while during week 17, they secured a 41-7 win to sweep the season series.

The Dallas Cowboys are still yet to make significant offseason moves to address their glaring roster weaknesses. On the other hand, they are also looking at a possible exit of star player Micah Parsons. The star defensive end publicly requested a trade just last week.
