The Golden State Warriors let another winnable game slip away on Saturday, falling 114-109 to the Indiana Pacers despite holding a 10-point lead midway through the fourth quarter. Afterward, Steph Curry placed the responsibility on himself, citing poor leadership and a lack of energy in the closing minutes.
The Pacers were missing several key players, but the Warriors failed to capitalize. Steph Curry admitted his role in the collapse, telling reporters he made the game harder for his teammates by not keeping the offense organized and allowing bad possessions to pile up.
“With not getting organized, bad possessions, a little lack of energy. You give a team like that life… They have enough talent where you saw they can make shots down the stretch,” Curry said, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Curry finished with 24 points and two assists but committed five turnovers, including one in the fourth quarter as Indiana mounted its comeback. He scored six points in the final period but missed five shots and one crucial free throw.

Golden State’s defensive lapses compounded their offensive struggles. Aaron Nesmith torched them for 31 points and six rebounds, while Quenton Jackson, in just his third season, delivered 25 points, six rebounds, 10 assists, and three steals.
The defeat followed another frustrating loss on Thursday in Milwaukee, where the Warriors faced a Bucks team without Giannis Antetokounmpo. Instead of taking advantage, they allowed former Warrior Ryan Rollins to shine with 32 points, three rebounds, and eight assists in a revenge performance.
The Warriors now return home after the two-game road trip. They will have two days off before hosting Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns at Chase Center on Tuesday. With the Suns entering at 2-4, Golden State has an opportunity to rebound quickly.
In a tightly packed Western Conference, where playoff positioning can hinge on a single game, these early stumbles could prove significant if not corrected.
