Isaiah Hartenstein made his return at MSG for the first time as an opponent since leaving as a free agent. Oklahoma City star received a warm welcome from the crowd during lineup announcements. I-Hart enjoyed the return in New York with a 126-101 win on Friday. Thunder are 19-1 this season when Hartenstein is part of the starting lineup.
Hartenstein saluted the fans following a tribute video. He played for the Knicks for two seasons after signing the deal in the 2022 NBA offseason. The German added nine rebounds in his 30-minute stay and got support from MVP contender, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who tallied 39 points on 15-of-21 shooting.
A 15-2 run helped the Thunder outscore the Knicks 31-17 in the first quarter. Another 10-2 run in the second helped Oklahoma City to stretch their lead to 28 points. Tom Thibodeau’s side tried to improve their game but they made a surrender against the West no. 1. The Knicks were even booed by the MSG crowd in a humiliating blowout.
