Houston Rockets are targeting Devin Booker and Kevin Durant

A horrendous season for the Phoenix Suns continues as the franchise struggles to make the play-in. With no draft picks until 2031, the Suns’ next move might be a rebuild. The rebuild starts with regaining multiple draft picks and a young star for either Devin Booker or Kevin Durant and Houston Rockets might swoop in.

The Houston Rockets are looking to trade for Booker or Durant, according to Sam Amick. With the Rockets owning three of the Suns’ first-round picks (2025, 2027 and 2029), either Booker or Durant maybe headed to Houston.

A young team in Houston has made strong waves in the ongoing season. They currently sit in a guaranteed playoff spot with a five-game difference to the seventh position. With Jalen Green, Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson, the Rockets search for a veteran star who could unlock the next step for them. With Booker averaging 26.0 points and 6.9 assists per game and Durant averaging 26.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, the Rockets would be happy with either of the Suns’ superstar.

The Suns’ have no option other than trading one of their superstar to get back draft picks plus another young star. The franchise has won only three games in February out of 13 and are certainly out of the playoffs mix.

The Phoenix Suns’ superstar lashed out in frustration as the team struggles to win games. The Suns’ lost in a humiliating manner against the Wolves by 116-98 at home. The franchise was also swept in the first-round of the 2024 playoffs by the Wolves in a disgraceful manner. Kevin Durant was seen talking after game and labelled it a “shi**y game”.

“We didn’t play up to our standards at all. “We embarrassed the fans and we embarrassed ourselves the way we played. I want us to be better.” added Kevin Durant.

Given Kevin Durant’s frustration with the team’s performance and his recent comments about the loss being “embarrassing”, Kevin Durant might be headed out.
