Last season was full of excitement and upheaval for the Dallas Mavericks. After trading Luka Doncic for Anthony Davis, the Mavericks also had to deal with a number of injuries. Kyrie Irving tore a knee ligament and missed the rest of the season. Previously, Anthony Davis, Derek Lively, and Daniel Gafford —the team’s big men—also missed games with injuries.

Thus, at the end of the season, center Kai Jones rose to prominence. At 24, the center, in his third NBA season, appeared in 12 games with the Mavericks and averaged 11.6 points and 6.6 rebounds, by far the best of his career. However, his contract expired at the end of the season and he ended up in free agency. Without any progress with NBA teams, Jones is close to signing with Anadolu Efes Istanbul, according to BasketNews. The Turkish team suffered a setback with the injury of Vincent Poirier, a French center who previously played in the NBA.

Kai Jones had limited playing time in his first two NBA seasons with the Charlotte Hornets. In 2024-25, he signed with the Los Angeles Clippers and later moved to the Mavericks. Jones played 40 games for the Clippers and Mavericks last season, averaging 5.0 points and 3.1 rebounds per game while shooting 79.8% from the field in 11.7 MPG.
In 2019, Cam Reddish was one of the NCAA ‘s top players, sharing the spotlight at Duke with Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett. There, the three formed a great “big three” on paper, as they were established lottery talents. With Zion going with the first pick and Barrett with the third, Cam Reddish fell a bit behind, but not much. The forward went with the tenth pick to the Atlanta Hawks.
However, he never managed to establish himself in Atlanta and was traded midway through his third season. Three years later, he may be saying goodbye to the NBA. According to BasketNews, the player is in advanced talks with BC Šiauliai, a Lithuanian team. However, Reddish’s contract reportedly includes a release clause if any NBA or EuroLeague team seeks his representatives.
