The Detroit Pistons are starting to look like the 90’s “Bad Boys,” Pistons again. Led by a young superstar in Cade Cunningham; the way the Pistons are currently playing, they could make a lot of noise come postseason. Back in the 90s when the Pistons were led by Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Bill Laimbeer, Dennis Rodman and the rest of the crew, there was a reason why they went on to win back-to-back championships. The Pistons knew that their talent level wasn’t on par with the top teams, but they used intimidation, physicality, and would do anything to win. Now, in 2025, though it may not be on the same level as the 90s, the 2025 Pistons team are starting to look like they’ve embraced their true culture. They don’t shoot as many threes as the Celtics or have a Nikola Jokic kind of player in their roster, but they will do anything to win the game and that has what made them special this season.
Meanwhile for the Memphis Grizziles, they got rid of head coach Taylor Jenkins at the very end of the season and interim coach Tuomas Lisalo has currently taken over. While the Grizzlies started off the season well, they have been slipping as of late and are currently the 8th seed in the West. The Grizzlies’ superstar Ja Morant has been in trouble recently with his on-court antics, and even after continuous warnings from the league, Morant continued to wave finger guns as part of his celebration. Just a couple of seasons ago, the Grizzlies looked like the team to beat in the West, but now we wonder if they can even make it past the first round of the playoffs.

Detroit Pistons are playing on a second night of a back-to-back after defeating the Toronto Raptors. They have won 6 of their last 10 games and currently sitting at the 5th seed in the East. They have a tough stretch of games coming up and will face the 6th seeded Milwaukee Bucks for their final two games before the postseason starts. The Bucks and the Pistons have been fighting for the 5th seed in the East, and if the Pistons maintain the 5th seed, they will play the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the playoffs.

The Grizzlies are the 8th seed in the West and have lost 7 of their last 10 games. They are currently tied with the L.A. Clippers and the Minnesota Timberwolves, with each owning a record of 45-32. After losing back-to-back games against the Boston Celtics and the Golden State Warriors, they won their previous game against the Miami Heat and it took a heroic effort from Morant to seal the victory. The Grizzlies are under pressure to win as many games as they can, to get themselves back in the playoff picture. Because if the Grizzlies end up as the eighth seed, that means they’ll play the Oklahoma City Thunder and we do not know if they stand much of a chance against them.

The Grizzlies have been missing their key forward in Brandon Clark and he is will not return to play this season. Their two guards Vince Williams Jr. and Zyon Pullin will also not participate in the game against the Pistons as they are both listed as “out.”
Cade Cunningham, the Detroit Pistons’ most essential player, may or may not play against the Grizzlies as his status is currently listed as, “game time decision.” Forward Tobias Harris may also not play as his status for tonight is also listed as “game time decision,” on the injury report. One of their most essential pieces in Jaden Ivey will not be back anytime soon, and only if the Pistons get past the first round of the playoffs, we may see Ivey on the court again this season.

mma I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
