The Pistons kicked off their 2025-26 NBA season with a 115-111 defeat to the Chicago Bulls, but defeated the Houston Rockets in the next game to record their first seasonal win.

The game saw Cade Cunningham drop 21 points, while Ausar Thompson came up with 19 points for the Pistons. Duncan Robinson, Paul Reed and Ronald Holland II also dropped double-digit scores to help the Pistons cruise past the victory line.

Their rivals, Boston Celtics, on the other hand, kicked off their campaign with a minimal loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. In their second game, they suffered a ten-point defeat to the New York Knicks despite a combined 41-point effort from Jaylen Brown and Sam Hauser. Along with them, Derrick White dropped 15 points, but the 18-time NBA Champions fell to the reigning Eastern Conference Finalists.
