Detroit Pistons’ Isaiah Stewart gets suspended and fined for flagrant foul

Stewart was fined $50,000 for making "inappropriate and objectionable gestures."

Detroit Pistons star Isaiah Stewart will serve a suspension of one game without pay due to his sixth flagrant foul point of the season. The NBA officially announced the one-game ban on Friday, Jan. 31. Stewart will miss Detroit’s crucial home matchup against the Dallas Mavericks on Feb. 1, 2025.

Stewart faced the consequences after his team’s 133-119 loss against the Pacers on Friday. The 23-year-old was ejected for “inappropriate and objectionable gestures” and received a flagrant foul 2 call with 8:45 left in the second quarter. Pistons center already had four flagrant foul points before playing against Indiana on Jan. 31.

Stewart was also fined $50,000 for making “inappropriate and objectionable gestures” following his ejection. NBA’s official announcement reads, “Because he entered the game with four flagrant foul points on his season record, the call on Wednesday triggered an automatic one-game suspension.”

Stewart will miss bobblehead night after ejection as the Pistons had planned to distribute commemorative bobbleheads to fans on Saturday, Feb. 1. Detroit will not change the date of giveaway event as it was planned well before the game day. Stewart will be absent from the celebration.

Isaiah Stewart is having a tough season with the Pistons, averaging 5.4 points and 5.8 rebounds over 48 games. He has made only three starts. ESPN’s Bobby Marks shared a figure from Stewart’s loss due to suspension. Pistons star will lose $86,207 due to suspension and will also serve a $50K fine.
