Clippers’ Bradley Beal to Make Preseason Debut on Friday vs Golden State Warriors

Beal has been recovering from a minor knee procedure performed in May.

Los Angeles Clippers guard Bradley Beal is set to make his preseason debut on Friday against the Golden State Warriors. Beal signed with the Clippers on an $11 million, two-year deal, after reaching a contract buyout with Phoenix Suns in July this year. However, the Clippers were without Beal for all their three preseason games so far due to his recovery from a minor knee procedure performed in May.

As per the latest update shared by the Clippers, Beal will be available on Friday. According to a report shared by Chris Haynes, “Los Angeles Clippers star Bradley Beal (knee) is to expected to make his preseason debut tonight in exhibition finale against Golden State Warriors.”

During the 2024-25 season, Beal played through a right knee inflammation with the Suns and underwent an arthroscopic surgery to address the issue. His appearance was limited to 53 games and made 38 starts. Even during the training camp, he was a limited participant.

What Can be Expected from Bradley Beal in Preseason Debut Against Warriors?

Bradley Beal finished the previous season with an average of 17.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. He was shooting 49.7% from the field. Since he is coming off a knee issue, one can expect the Clippers to give him a lighter workload against the Dubs. In one of the previous interviews, head coach Tyronn Lue said that the Clippers expect him to score and make plays for other players too.

The Clippers have a veteran core with James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, and Chris Paul, and with Beal’s inclusion can help the team with load management. He will likely be the third scoring option with his new team, like how he was in the Phoenix Suns. In the Clippers, both Harden and Leonard averaged 21+ points per game during the last season. For the upcoming game, it remains unclear how many minutes Beal will get, but one can expect him to get some reps and get through their debut without any setbacks.
