Oklahoma City Thunder center Chet Holmgren knows how to give it back! After sealing a spot in the NBA Finals, Holmgren took a jibe at Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards. Notably, the OKC Thunder defeated the Timberwolves 124-94 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday night. As the Thunder made it to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2012, Holmgren had a message to share for Ant Man.

The 2022 overall second pick shared a series of pictures on Instagram from the night Thunder were crowned the Western Conference champions. However, what caught everyone’s attention was the caption he shared. The 23-year-old captioned the post, “Welcome home Chet,” taking a dig at Edwards. Not only this, but he also put up the clip of Edwards saying, “Shout out to Chet. Welcome home, baby.”

For the unversed, back in February, the Minnesota-born was put on a poster by high-flying Anthony Edwards during a regular-season matchup between both the teams. Ant Man shared a message for Holmgren, after watching the video of his dunk at that time. The former Gonzaga Bulldogs star let the three-time All-Star have his laugh at that moment, but waited for the right moment to clap back.

Chet Holmgren Scripts History With Game 5 Performance

Chet Holmgren played a crucial role as the Thunder took down the Timberwolves in five games to advance to the summit clash. During game 5 of the series, he played for 30 minutes and poured in 22 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks, while shooting 8-for-13.

With his performance, the 2024 NBA All-Rookie First Team member scripted franchise history. He is now the youngest Thunder player to put up such a performance in a conference finals game.

Notably, in 16 games that he has played this postseason, the 23-year-old put up an average of 16.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks while shooting 48.9% from the field. During the conference championship, he tallied 18.0 points per game, while shooting 56.7% from the field and 36.8% from deep.
