Bradley Beal Trade: Suns guard could waive his no-trade clause amid four-team trade rumors

The NBA trade deadline is just two weeks away, and with each day passing, the buzz in the air regarding the trading of several big names continues to grow. The Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal is one of the names who is being monitored by fans and pundits. The deadline for the NBA teams to make major in-season moves is Thursday, February 6, 3 p.m. ET.

While there is no official confirmation, there have been reports that the former Washington Wizards guard, Bradley Beal, who joined the Suns in 2023, could be traded in a four-team move after a disappointing stint. The rumors of his potential move gained momentum when Beal was sidelined for first time in nine years, during Suns’ 109-99 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers earlier this month.

Not only this, but the Suns and Miami Heat All-Star Jimmy Butler expressed their mutual interest in each other, and for them to do so, the Suns would need to let go of Beal. However, there are two major problems regarding the Beal’s trade; he is in the third year of his five-year deal, and has no trade clause.

According to latest reports, Beal, who has been moved to the bench, has a change of heart and is willing to waive his no-trade clause. Notably, a no-trade clause is a contract that allows players to veto their trades to certain teams.

Beal, the third member of the Suns’ big three apart from Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, is open to waiving his no-trade clause in case of a right situation, as per media reports.

According to The Athletic’s Fred Katz, “The Suns are making calls about the two veterans they just moved to the bench, though they have yet to ask Beal for his thoughts about any potential trade, team sources said.”

“Beal’s sign-off is necessary, considering he can veto any deal that includes him. He would consider waiving his no-trade clause for the right destination, according to a source familiar with his thinking,” reports added.

Beal, who moved to Suns after spending 11 years with the Wizards, is averaging 17.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.1 steals in 30 games this season.
