Bam Adebayo Injury Update: Miami Heat Center Diagnosed with Toe Sprain, to Miss Clash Against Charlotte Hornets

The Miami Heat shared an update on star center Bam Adebayo’s injury he sustained during their 122-112 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday. According to the Heat, Adebayo has been diagnosed with a left big toe sprain. Notably, the three-time NBA All-Star suffered a left foot injury during the clash against the Nuggets, limiting him to just eight minutes of playing time. The 28-year-old appeared to injure his left foot during a collision with the Nuggets forward Cameron Johnson just four minutes into the game.

Though he stayed in the game, before being substituted for the usual rest with around four minutes remaining in the first quarter, Adebayo then went to the locker room and didn’t return. Later, an update by Anthony Chiang revealed that he was expected to undergo an MRI upon the Heat’s return to Miami, considering Adebyo wasn’t sure about the severity of his foot injury.

Bam Adebayo Diagnosed with Left Great Toe Sprain

According to the latest update shared by the Miami Heat, Adebayo underwent an MRI examination, which revealed that he has been diagnosed with a left great toe sprain. The Heat also revealed that Adeabyo would miss the upcoming clash against the Charlotte Hornets in the 2025 NBA Cup tournament. He has been listed as day-to-day on the injury report, and hence, the decision on his return would be taken before the Heat’s regular season clash against the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday, November 8.

Notably, Adebayo, who finished the previous season with an average of 18.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game, is currently dropping 19.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. He is shooting 45.2% from the field and 34.0% from the three-point range. As for the Heat, they are ninth in the Eastern Conference with a 4-4 tally.
