The LA Clippers finalized another roster move this weekend, signing rookie guard Jahmyl Telfort to a two-way contract after his standout showing in the team’s preseason finale.
The deal was first reported Saturday by ESPN’s Shams Charania, confirming that the undrafted Butler product had earned one of the Clippers’ two-way slots. Telfort’s defensive versatility and awareness reportedly impressed the organization throughout camp, and his late surge sealed the opportunity.

On Friday night, the LA Clippers closed out their preseason with a narrow three-point win over the Golden State Warriors. While young guard Kobe Sanders led all scorers with 25 points in 37 minutes off the bench, it was Telfort’s emergence that drew attention.
The 24-year-old rookie logged 16 minutes, contributing nine points and three rebounds while shooting 4-for-7 from the field. Prior to that game, he had totaled just 14 minutes across the preseason without scoring. His ability to capitalize on the final audition proved decisive.
Few expected Jahmyl Telfort to secure the Clippers’ last two-way spot, but his defensive consistency and adaptability stood out. The Athletic’s Law Murray highlighted Telfort’s “high level of awareness” and his willingness to guard multiple positions, describing him as tough, skilled, and reliable.
That combination of traits, paired with his offensive background at Butler, made him an appealing option for Los Angeles. As a fifth-year senior, Jahmyl Telfort averaged 16.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game, shooting 47.1 percent from the field, 36.1 percent from three, and 77.1 percent from the free-throw line.
At 6-foot-7, Telfort projects as a versatile wing who will spend most of his rookie season with the Clippers’ G League affiliate in San Diego. That environment offers him valuable playing time and development opportunities while remaining under the organization’s watch.
He now joins Jordan Miller and Kobe Sanders as the Clippers’ two-way players, giving the team a flexible group capable of contributing in multiple roles. With 17 of 18 roster spots filled, Los Angeles has only one standard contract slot remaining as the 2025-26 regular season approaches.
The Clippers open their campaign Wednesday against the Utah Jazz. While Jahmyl Telfort is unlikely to see immediate minutes at the NBA level, his presence provides depth and potential for the future.
