Steve Kerr is the head coach of the Golden State Warriors, a position he has held since the 2014-15 season. He is one of the most popular and successful head coaches in the NBA. Born in 1965 to a Lebanese-born American academic, Malcolm H. Kerr and California-born academic, Ann Kerr, Steve Kerr had a long and glorious playing career before he stepped into coaching.

After playing for the University of Arizona and finishing his collegiate career at an average of 11.2 points with a 54.8% field goal percentage, Steve Kerr debuted for the Phoenix Suns in the NBA. His fourth and the most-recent trophy as a head coach came in 2022, where the Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics in six games.

In the 1998 NBA Finals, the Bulls defeated the Utah Jazz in six games to win the series and Kerr lifted his third straight NBA championship. His fourth title arrived in the 1999 season with the San Antonio Spurs, as they defeated the New York Knicks 4-1 in the finale. The last championship before Kerr announced his retirement from the NBA came in 2002-2003, when he was traded back to the Spurs from the Portland Trail Blazers. The Spurs defeated the New Jersey Nets in six games.

Overall, Kerr has a total of nine rings, as a head coach and a player. Apart from it, he has won two gold medals for the US National team (2020 Tokyo Olympics as an assistant coach, and 2024 Paris Olympics as a head coach). He also won gold in 1986 FIBA World Championship as an assistant coach.
