Pat Spencer Ejected After Sengun Clash as Rockets vs. Warriors Game Turns Ugly in Fourth Quarter

Things got out of control in another physically imposing NBA Playoffs game. Golden State Warriors guard Pat Spencer had it with Alperen Sengun in the fourth quarter of the game. This incident had a chain reaction where other players, even those on the sidelines, got involved.

With around four minutes left for the end of the Rockets vs. Warriors game, Braxton Key missed a layup. Dillon Brooks captured the rebound while Moses Moody tried to take the ball away. A little pushing and shoving started from there. However, as Pat Spencer was walking away, Alperen Sengun crashed his shoulders on the Warriors guard.

The 28-year-old was having none of it and gave it back to Sengun by headbutting him. Trayce Jackson-Davis joined in to protect his teammate and gave a hard push to the Turkish international. The bench, coaching staff were all on the court to separate the two sides. Pat Spencer was ejected from the game.

While Alperen Sengun who was the initiator of the whole brawl was given one technical foul. Trayce Jackson-Davis also got a technical. The Houston Rockets have had the approach of derailing the Warriors’ momentum by resorting to physicality on the court. Just when the Golden State’s bench was slowly creeping back into the game, Sengun created chaos.

Warriors put up white flag early

The Golden State Warriors had a poor game five by all the standards, as their starters barely had any foot on the game. By the end of the first half, the Warriors were down by 27 points and looking for the continuation of the trend, coach Steve Kerr called back his starters by the third quarter.

For almost half of the game, Kerr gave opportunities to his bench against the Houston Rockets. And the inexperienced players didn’t disappoint. They cut the 27 point lead of the Rockets by half at the start of the fourth quarter. Pat Spencer, Moses Moody, Kevin Knox were all part of the mini comeback.

Moody scored 25 points and 9 rebounds, while Kevin Knox hit 14 points. Pat Spencer scored 11 points in just 14 minutes of action. If the ejection didn’t take place, the Warriors guard could have ended with better figures. The Golden State Warriors now head back to Chase Center with another chance to close out the series.
