The Cleveland Cavaliers continued their winning momentum and clinched their second win, marking 61stst victory of the season. The top-seeded Eastern Conference side has already booked its playoff spot, and in the Wednesday night’s game, it took down the New York Knicks 124-105.

On the other hand, MVP frontrunner Shai-Gilgeous Alexander recorded his 69th straight game with 20+ point score, and tied Michael Jordan for the fourth longest streak in a single season in the history of the NBA. He finished with 33 points in the 119-103 win over the Pistons.

A lot more happened in the NBA on Wednesday, April 2, as 18 teams went head-to-head in nine exciting games. Let’s have a look at the key highlights.

Wizards 116-111 Kings

The Washington Wizards took down the Sacramento Kings 116-111. Jordan Poole led the side with 23 points, two rebounds and two assists, while Carlton Carrington and AJ Johnson recorded 19 points each. Tristan Vukcevic posted 17 points, eight rebounds and three assists for his side.

On the flip side, DeMar DeRozan scored 29 points, seven rebounds and eight assists while three players, including Keegan Murray, Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine scored 18 points, each.

Pacers 119-105 Hornets

The Indiana Pacers edged past the Charlotte Hornets with a commanding 119-105 win. Tyrese Haliburton led them with 22 points, one rebound and ten assists, while Aaron Nesmith recorded 16 points, three rebounds and one assist. Pascal Siakam and Myles Turner finished the night with 15 points apiece.

On the flip side, the Hornets were led by Miles Bridges with 18 points, four rebounds and five assists. Mark Williams and Seth Curry contributed 16 points each. Jusuf Nurkic scored 13 points, five rebounds and one assist.

Cavaliers 124-105 Knicks

The Cleveland Cavaliers recorded their 61st win of the season as they defeated the New York Knicks 124-105. Donovan Mitchell scored 27 points, six rebounds and five assists whereas Jarrett Allen came up with 21 points and eight rebounds. Darius Garland scored 17 points, four rebounds and six assists while De’Andre Hunter added 16 points and two rebounds.

For the Knicks, Karl-Anthony Towns scored 25 points, 13 rebounds and one assist while OG Anunoby finished with 23 points, six rebounds and six assists. Josh Hart chipped in 19 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Heat 124-103 Celtics

The Miami Heat have picked up the pace at the right time and their recent win is the proof of that. The Heat recorded a significant 124-103 win over the No. 2 seeded Celtics. Tyler Herro came up with 25 points, six rebounds and nine assists while Bam Adebayo finished with 21 points, five rebounds and six assists. Pelle Larsson scored 16 points, four rebounds and four assists whereas Kyle Anderson finished with 19 points, one rebound and one assist.

On the Celtics side, Jaylen Brown recorded a leading performance with 24 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Jayson Tatum and Derrick White finished with 16 points each while Luke Kornet called it a night with 14 points, six rebounds and two assists. Payton Pritchard scored 10 points, four rebounds and two assists.

Rockets 143-105 Jazz

The Houston Rockets clinched their playoff berth as they recorded a blowout 143-105 win over the Utah Jazz. Jalen Green came up with 22 points, four rebounds and two assists while Dillon Brooks had 21 points and two rebounds. A total of four players including Tari Easo, Alperen Sengun, Jabari Smith Jr. and Reed Shepard finished with 15 points.

On the other hand, the Jazz were led by Isaiah Collier who finished with 22 points, five rebounds and ten assists. Collin Sexton finished with 18 points, and four assists. Keyonte George scored 14 points and one rebound. Kenyon Martin Jr. finished with 13 points, three rebounds and two assists. Walker Kessler scored 11 points, 12 rebounds and one assist.

Mavericks 120-118 Hawks

The Dallas Mavericks recorded their fifth win in the last ten games as they took down the Atlanta Hawks 120-118. Anthony Davis led them with 34 points, 15 rebounds and two assists while Klay Thompson came up with 17 points, four rebounds and two assists. Spencer Dinwiddie recorded 14 points, four rebounds and 10 assists, whereas Jaden Hardy finished with 13 points, one rebound and three assists.

On the flip side, the Hawks had Trae Young scoring 25 points, four rebounds and 12 assists while Onyeka Okongwu finished with 20 points, 14 rebounds and two assists. Dyson Daniels finished with 17 points, six rebounds and five assists while Caris LeVert finished with 14 points, four rebounds and five assists.

Spurs 113-106 Nuggets

The San Antonio Spurs handed a 113-106 loss to the Denver Nuggets, recording their 32nd win of the season. They were led by Harrison Barnes with 20 points, eight rebounds and three assists while Chris Paul came up with 17 points, five rebounds and eight assists. Sandro Mamukelashvili posted 16 points and ten rebounds for them while Stephon Castle recorded 15 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists.

The Denver Nuggets felt the absence of the three-time MVP Nikola Jokic and suffered their second straight loss. Russell Westbrook came up with 30 points, 11 rebounds and six assists for them while Hunter Tyson had 18 points and six rebounds. Jalen Pickett scored a triple double with 17 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

Thunder 119-103 Pistons

The Oklahoma City Thunder recorded their 11th straight win as they defeated the Detroit Pistons 119-103. MVP frontrunner Shai Gilgeous-Alexander recorded 33 points, six rebounds and three assists. He now holds the record of 20+ points in 69 game straight, tying Michael Jordan’s record set in 1990-91, for the longest streak in a single season in the history of the league. Jalen Williams came up with 23 points, five rebounds and three assists, whereas Chet Holmgren had 22 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.

For the Pistons, Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 23 points, three rebounds and three assists, while Dennis Schroder had 15 points, four rebounds and seven assists. Jalen Duren finished with 13 points, 13 rebounds and three assists while Ausar Thompson recorded 13 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

Clippers 114-98 Pelicans

The Los Angeles Clippers took down the New Orleans Pelicans 114-98 to mark their second straight win. Kawhi Leonard came up with 28 points, three rebounds and three assists, marking his 15th game with at least 20 points in his last 16 appearances. James Harden scored 21 points, and ten assists, while Ivica Zubac had 17 points, ten rebounds and six assists.

The Pelicans, on the other hand, had Jose Alvarado finishing with 17 points, two rebounds and ten assists followed by Bruce Brown Jr’s 16 points, five rebounds and one assist. Antonio Reeves finished with 11 points and one assist.
