PJ Tucker Trade rumors : 4 teams eyeing Clippers veteran

The Veteran still has the capability to bring defensive presence to a contender

While still being away for the Clippers, PJ Tucker is drawing trade interest from several contenders around the NBA.

According to The Athletic’s Kelly Iko, the 76ers, the Bucks, the Suns and the Heat are having conversations with his representatives.

Later in this month, Clippers front office have given permission to PJ Tucker to seek a suitable trade after having expressed at various occasion his desire to leave the franchise.

Having a veteran presence on a team has always been an advantage for a contender. Tucker experience will definitely help contenders with his defensive presence.

Drafted 35th overall by the Toronto Raptors in 2006, Tucker initially struggled to find his footing in the NBA, spending time overseas in Europe and Israel before returning to the league in 2012 with the Phoenix Suns.

His reputation as a defensive specialist, coupled with a reliable corner three-point shot, made him a key role player, especially on contending teams.

Tucker’s defensive tenacity and ability to guard multiple positions earned him stints with the Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Miami Heat, where he contributed as a critical “glue guy” on playoff teams.

In 2021, he was instrumental in the Bucks’ championship run, providing defense and hustle plays that helped Milwaukee secure its first title in 50 years. He later joined the Philadelphia 76ers, continuing his role as a defensive anchor and veteran presence.
